From Where I Stand

#dPSWeeklyChallenge #dPSFromWhereIStand

I liked this week’s photo challenge because I’m in a different place than usual – physically and mentally! We’re on vacation and hanging out around Grand Rapids and the eastern coast of Lake Michigan near Holland and Saugatuck.

Obviously some of the photos are from the beach – Oval Beach in Saugatuck to be exact. The water was surprisingly refreshing, especially with the warm day. We got to the beach at about 6pm, and the sun was in and out of the clouds. It wasn’t very busy, but there were a few other photographers there (looked like they were doing photo shoots – one for a family, one for a couple, and another for a model).

The photo of the rainbow crosswalk is from Saugatuck which we decided feels like a midwest version of P-Town. Fun little town to explore. Instead of the ocean vibe, it has a lake vibe (not that I know how they are all that different).

From Where I Stand – these photos speak to me in that they show my state of mind on vacation and with room for creativity an random thoughts. My feet in the sand is pretty cliche, but I liked the photo of the water washing back out to the lake – almost like taking stress away and washing it out. The photos also represent the diversity that exists in Saugatuck – I don’t think I’ve seen that many rainbow flags and such since Pride month in NYC.
