Mouse Door

From the 52Frames Photo Challenge: On the Ground

This little door is about 5 inches tall, and is famous enough that it shows up as a photo spot on Google Maps. Taken in German Village in Columbus, OH, this tiny door on the side of a building attracts some attention from passersby wondering what the heck it is. It seems to have gone through a few different iterations, but I like this one with the contrast of the red door against the natural colors.

We went on a photo walk this past weekend with Jake Olson on a beautiful warm, sunny day in October. Most of that time we spent in a nearby park where we got some cool shots of fall colors and a random aerial dancer. Got to chat with some cool people and photographers of all types which was fun. We learned about getting pictures with sun stars and some good information on what settings to use for street photography. I also got to play with some more manual settings and manual focus.

This photo was taken with my 50mm macro lens. I wish that I had taken a few more shots from this angle and focus stacked them. I also could have moved a few things around to get a better composition, but I was reluctant to move the little figures as they weren’t mine to move. This was also a fun shot for the theme “On the Ground” for the weekly 52Frames photo challenge.
